EQO-NIXUS, together with NTU, has been selected to prepare the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the ambitious 10-year network development programme (“TYNDP”) for the expansion of its gas transportation network of Romania.
One of the most import objective of the TYNDP is the strengthening the connectivity of the Romanian gas transportation network with the gas transportation network of the neighbouring countries and therefore increase the security of supply and diversify the sources of gas for the benefit of the region and the EU. In order to sustain and streamline this gas transportation network development process, Transgaz has to follow and implement the relevant EU and Romanian environmental and social legislation.
As a result of this TA contract, TransGaz will have acquired a SEA for its TYNDP and with this be able to gain access to financing of projects in accordance with the requirements of art. 22 of the Directive 2009/73/EC concerning common rules for the internal market in natural gas.
