EQO-NIXUS started last February the implementation of a renewable energy development project in India. In consortium with IBF and Idom, the EU-funded project, which is part of the project Clean energy cooperation with India’ (CECI), aims at enhancing India’s capacity to deploy clean energy production and improve energy efficiency, thereby contributing to the mitigation of global climate change.

Project activities will support India’s efforts to secure the supply of energy and thus contribute to global energy security, within a well-established framework for strategic energy cooperation between the EU and India. The project will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technological know-how from the EU experience in the sector and its adaptability to the Indian context, also through the involvement of the European businesses in the energy technologies sector (renewables, energy efficiency, electrical network equipment) and by fostering their cooperation with Indian actors.

This contract will provide technical assistance and advisory services for the strengthening of the energy sector policy framework and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Renewable Energy Corporation of India (RECI) in order to implement and effectively manage the identified solar parks in India, based on EU best practices suited for local conditions as a part of Green Energy Corridor (GEC) II project.

The work under will also involve supporting the activities of the joint working groups created in the framework of the EU–India energy panel, namely: energy security, renewables/energy efficiency/smart integration, and coal and clean coal.
