EQO-NIXUS was selected during the summer last year to provide its consulting services within the project “Networks and Mechanisms of Technology Transfer for Climate Change”, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The objective of the program, which is now in its final stage, is to promote the development and transfer of environmentally sound technologies in Latin American and Caribbean countries, in order to contribute to the mitigation of climate change through the reduction of the GHG emissions coming from the industrial production processes. Specifically, EQO NIXUS has based its consulting service in carrying out a technology needs assessment with emphasis on the energy component, in the iron and steel industry of Chile.

The assessment was based in the main goals of the Paris Agreement (UNFCCC, 2015) and counted on the vision and inputs of the main producers of iron ore and the steel producer in Chile.
