Last June 22nd-24th the African Development Bank (AfDB) organized in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, the Business Opportunity Seminar for Belgium, Luxemburg, Portugal and Spain. The Seminar was intended to present the business opportunities arising out of financing by the Bank Group, including Bank group policies and operations; procurement rules and procedures and on-going and potential country operations.
EQO, with a track-list record of projects in the African continent was present at the event and could obtain a better knowledge on how to identify, monitor and participate in the implementation of AfDB financed operations in various sectors and geographical areas.
Through this type of Seminar the AfDB aimed at increasing the participation of the benefiting country’s business community in the Bank group financed operations and other public-private partnership activities in Africa.
The event was an excellent opportunity to network with peers in the International Technical Assistance industry, and with AfDB sector specialists in the agriculture, natural resources, energy, public management, finance, transport, water, municipal infrastructure, health, and education sectors.
During the event, EQO members had the opportunity to meet with AfDB staff in procurement, consulting, project management and operations as well as with AfDB sector specialists. Members of EQO had the chance to network with other consulting firms and suppliers in donor and developing countries and present EQO’s services and projects in the areas of climate change, energy, environmental management and sustainable economy in the African continent.
EQO as an active player in the Technical Assistance field works closely with International Finance Institutions. In the African continent EQO has provided services in a variety of countries including: Morocco, South Africa, Djibouti, Kenya, Botswana, Ghana, Liberia, Egypt, Nigeria, Mozambique, Tunis, Namibia, Swaziland, and Seychelles.
