The Samarkand 100 MW Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant project aims to increase renewable energy generation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in Uzbekistan. The Project has three main components:
i) construction of a 100 megawatt (MW) grid-connected crystalline photovoltaic power plant with single-axis tracking system;
ii) institutional capacity building on financial, technical, and regulatory issues on solar energy and grid integration; and,
iii) project management and supervision support.
Project Preparatory Technical Assistance (PPTA) consultants will prepare the conceptual system design and bidding documents, and assist in the procurement and tendering process. A separate ADB-funded policy and advisory technical assistance (PATA) was implemented by EQO to conduct onsite measurements, feasibility studies, and safeguards due diligence for this and up to 5 other solar projects.
