EQO-NIXUS has been contracted by the European Commission to evaluate its regional project “Tonne of oil equivalent – Development of renewable energy and transfer of experience and know-how” (TEP-VERTES for its acronym in French).

The evaluation will comprise EC operations in these Pacific islands since 2006. EQO-NIXUS will emphasize in OECD criteria for such interventions: relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and impact; as well as the additional criteria of community added value and consistency.

EQO-NIXUS team of experts is already in the region, analysing on-site the adequacy of PV and wind equipment installed. The team will focus on the verification of the results achieved, on the possible causes for the non-achieved results and on the benefit of the interventions. One relevant output of this Technical Assistance assignment will be the recommendations to improve future cooperation between the EU and these Pacific islands.

The project is expected to conclude by the end of the year.
